Our Goal
At The Futebol Forge, we believe in developing skill while nurturing a love for the sport. Our coaching philosophy is built on creating a positive, constructive environment where players can improve while enjoying the beautiful game.
We focus on technical excellence, field awareness, and confidence, using drills that have benefited both elite professionals and those striving to reach that level. But Beyond the training, we emphasize creativity and self-expression, encouraging players to take risks, enjoy the game, and play with passion.
The Futebol Forge is about personal mentorship and real player development. Success for us is not just measured in development of skills, but also in the confidence, joy, and freedom a player gains from training with us.
Meet the Coach
My Youth Soccer Experience
Growing up as a smaller player here in Northern California, I was often overlooked despite my technical ability. Coaches would tell me to "be more aggressive" without offering Real Solutions, forcing me to figure out how to compete against bigger, stronger players on my own.
Through years of trial error and research, visiting and playing as a guest with clubs in Portugal, such as Fundação Pauleta (Azores/ Açores) and playing for a summer session at Escola Academia Sporting Algés (just outside Lisbon/ Lisboa), I developed solutions. Now, I aim to be the coach I wish I had---helping players of all sizes build confidence, develop high-level skills, and play with intelligence and creativity.
Eros Amarante
After 10 years of competitive club play with almost all clubs from Galt to Sacramento and four years of varsity high school soccer, I’m weeks away from wrapping up this part of my soccer journey. I have recently completed my first U.S. coaching license and signed on to play at Woodland Community College. After numerous conversations with the coach, I’m excited for the opportunity, as we share a similar playing style and philosophy.
My journey in soccer has been shaped by self-guided, self-taught, researched-based training and a deep understanding of skill development. I’ve learned firsthand the value of deliberate practice and quality repetition, the patience required to refine key aspects of the game, and the confidence that comes from knowing you’ve put in the work. This experience has reinforced my belief that players must be intentional in their development, focusing on the details that often get overlooked.

What sets me apart as a coach is my firsthand experience with the modern youth soccer landscape in Northern California—I know the challenges players face, from finding a coach that can actually teach them, being overlooked, struggling with confidence and decision-making under pressure. My approach is personal and tailored, not a one-size-fits-all club model.
At The Futebol Forge, my goal is to help players develop technical excellence, field awareness, and confidence so they can express themselves freely on the field. I want to provide the guidance I wish I had—giving players the tools to take their game to the next level with smart, structured, and purposeful training.
